Why is there a countdown before my download starts?
Free downloads start after a short countdown of about eight seconds. This keeps the service free to run for everyone. Visitors with a Quick Pass skip the countdown and download immediately.
Can I download only the audio of a video as MP3?
Yes. Switch from Video to Audio (MP3) before pressing Download and VidPouch extracts the audio track at the highest available quality. Pinterest videos are the exception, because most of them have no sound.

Does VidPouch work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. On iPhone use Safari, and the file is saved in the Files app, from where you can add it to Photos. On Android use Chrome, and the file goes to your Downloads folder and usually appears in the gallery. On a computer it lands in your Downloads folder.
Can I download private videos?
No. VidPouch only downloads public videos. Private, friends-only, deleted or login-protected videos cannot be fetched, and VidPouch never asks for your account password.
Can I download TikTok videos without the watermark?
Yes. For TikTok, VidPouch fetches the clean version of the video without the moving TikTok logo, whenever TikTok provides one. Please credit the creator when you share their work.
Is it legal to download videos?
It depends on the video and the laws where you live. Save only videos you made, that are licensed for reuse or that you have permission to keep, and never re-upload or sell other people's work. Many platforms' terms also restrict downloading.
Does VidPouch store the videos I download?
No. The video is fetched when you ask for it, sent to your device and deleted from the server straight away. VidPouch keeps only a basic log of the link, format and quality for abuse prevention, and a one-way hash of your IP address.
How long can a video be?
Free downloads work for videos up to 30 minutes. A Quick Pass raises the limit to two hours. Very large files above the size limit cannot be downloaded.
What file formats do I get?
Videos are saved as MP4 and audio as MP3, which play on virtually every phone, computer and TV. Where possible the MP4 uses the widely compatible H.264 codec. Some very high resolutions use HEVC (H.265), which most modern devices play.
Why did my download fail or say the video is unavailable?
The most common reasons are that the video is private or was deleted, the site requires a login to show it, it is restricted in your region, it is too long for your plan, or the site temporarily blocked the request. Check the link opens in a private browser window and try again later.
Can I download YouTube videos with VidPouch?
VidPouch can download public YouTube videos and Shorts when saving them is allowed, but YouTube restricts some videos and may temporarily block requests. Live streams, age-restricted and members-only videos are not supported. Only save videos you own or have permission to keep.
