How to Download Facebook Videos

Step by step

  1. Copy the Facebook link. Tap the Share button under the video and choose Copy link (or copy the address from your browser).

What works and what does not

Only videos set to Public can be downloaded. Friends-only and group videos cannot. Facebook Watch, Reels and fb.watch short links all work.

Choosing a quality

Pick the largest size your screen needs. Smaller files download faster and save storage; the highest quality is best for editing. Free downloads are capped at 720p, and a Quick Pass unlocks 1080p and above.

If the download fails

Check that the Facebook video is public and not deleted, copy the link again, and try once more. If it still fails, the site may require a login or restrict the video in your region, and it cannot be downloaded.

Why is my Facebook video only available in low quality?

Facebook offers SD and HD versions, but older or low-resolution uploads may only have an SD copy. We show every quality that exists.

Can I download a Facebook live video?

Once the live stream has ended and Facebook saved it as a normal video, usually yes. A stream that is still live cannot be downloaded.
