Why MP4?
MP4 is the most widely supported video format. It plays in every browser, phone gallery, video editor and smart TV, so a Reddit video saved as MP4 just works.
How to convert Reddit to MP4
Tap Share on the post, then Copy link. Paste it above, press Download, pick MP4 and a quality, then wait for the countdown.
What a Reddit MP4 is like
Reddit MP4s are mostly short loops and clips. Reddit stores video and sound separately, so we join them and the file keeps its audio.
Before you download
Reddit videos and their audio are stored separately; we join them into one file for you. Videos hosted on other sites (such as YouTube) must be downloaded from that site's link.

Frequently asked questions
Which MP4 quality should I choose for Reddit videos?
Pick the largest size your phone or screen can show, or a smaller one to save storage and data. Free downloads go up to 720p; a Quick Pass unlocks 1080p and above where Reddit offers it.
Will the Reddit MP4 play on my phone, TV and editing software?
Yes. We use the widely compatible H.264 codec wherever the site provides it. A few very high resolutions use HEVC (H.265), which most modern devices play.
What about videos Reddit links to from other sites?
If the post links to YouTube or another site, copy that site's own video link instead.
Can I download Reddit GIFs?
Yes. Reddit GIFs are served as short videos, so they download as MP4.
Why does my Reddit link fail?
The post may be deleted, from a private or quarantined community, or restricted to logged-in users. Those cannot be fetched.
Is it free to use?
Yes. Downloads are free. Free downloads start after a short countdown, and a Quick Pass removes the wait and unlock the highest qualities and larger batches.
