Updated October 2026

Step by step

  1. Copy the Instagram link. Open the Reel or video post, tap the paper-plane Share icon, then Copy link.
  2. Paste it into the box. Open the Instagram Video Downloader (this page), paste the link into the box and press Download.
  3. Choose MP4 or MP3 and a quality. We detect the site, list every quality available and let you pick a format.
  4. Wait a few seconds and save. After a short countdown your file starts downloading. A Quick Pass skips the wait.

What works and what does not

Works for public Reels and video posts. Photos and carousels are not supported. Instagram sometimes asks for a login before showing a video; when it does, that video cannot be fetched.

Choosing a quality

Pick the largest size your screen needs. Smaller files download faster and save storage; the highest quality is best for editing. Free downloads are capped at 720p, and a Quick Pass unlocks 1080p and above.

If the download fails

Check that the Instagram video is public and not deleted, copy the link again, and try once more. If it still fails, the site may require a login or restrict the video in your region, and it cannot be downloaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download Instagram Reels?

Yes, public Reels and video posts work. Tap the paper-plane Share icon on the Reel, choose Copy link and paste it above.

Can I download Instagram photos, carousels or Stories?

No. We support videos and Reels only. Stories and private content need a login, so they cannot be downloaded.

Why does it say the video needs a login?

Instagram sometimes hides a post from visitors who are not logged in, for example because of age, region or account settings. When that happens we cannot fetch it.

Does the Instagram video keep its sound?

Yes, if the original has audio. Music in Reels is often licensed for Instagram only, so use it for personal viewing.

What quality will an Instagram video be?

Instagram stores videos at up to the resolution they were uploaded, often 720p to 1080p. We list every quality it offers.
